Grace and Truth: Depending on where our biases lie, we tend to gravitate toward one or the other. Usually, we gravitate toward one at the cost of the other.
Conservative churches often emphasize “truth-telling” over grace. Liberal churches usually favor “tolerance” over truth.
The problem with this is simple: the world needs both. Jesus showed us how to serve others with Grace AND Truth. John illustrates that beautifully as he shows us how Jesus responded to the woman who was caught in adultery.
